Our Construction Futures team includes a number of Industry Training Advisors (ITA) who offer student support. Students can hear valuable advice from someone who has worked in the industry and learn expert tips and experience.
ITAs are available to attend events at schools and expos. They can help by discussing funding incentives, unlocking career advice and understanding the various pathways into and within the industry.

There are many school-based options students can take to start their construction career. From year 9, students have access to our Try-A-Trade program, while students in Years 11 and 12 can partake in Pre-Apprenticeship Scholarship and construction-based VET programs at school and TAFE.
These courses are designed to prepare young workers for real-world jobs. In particular, Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs are delivered to secondary students to give them a better understanding of what school subjects and courses offer the best pathway to a career in construction. Your child can also undertake a traineeship or pre-apprentice scholarship during school or as a school leaver.
