The Construction Futures team helps young career seekers transition from school to work. We’ll help you get on the road to a fulfilling job with skilled and tailored high school student support.

Be part of something big with a career in building and construction. Our fully-funded programs break down the barriers to industry employment via practical education and flexible pathways. The programs are designed to attract students to a construction career and guide them on the best way to get ahead.

Western Australia’s construction industry is one of the biggest and most rewarding. Our Industry Training Advisors (ITAs) work alongside Registered Training Organisations (RTO) to provide school-aged job seekers access to career advice and discuss job options.

Pathways into Construction

Get ahead of the competition and plan your career early. You can start exploring your options as early as Year 9. Whether you're interest in tertiary study or trade pathways, there's something for everyone. Discover construction-based programs and pathways while studying. With an ITA’s support, you can learn what subjects you should be doing now to benefit you later.

Try-A-Trade

Our fully-funded program provides the opportunity to try different trades. Get a feel for what you do and don’t like in the industry and gain hands-on experience. Learn critical skills and participate in engaging activities.

Gain a Scholarship

There is a strong demand for students who have completed a pre apprenticeship scholarship. To increase your job opportunities in the industry, why not consider a Pre-Apprenticeship Scholarship Program? It’s fully funded and designed for Years 11 and 12 students who want to combine school and study with training. You learn useful skills to show off and may even be able to reduce some of the time in your apprenticeship.

There are various paths you can take starting in school, after school or as a mature-age student. The best way to discover your options is to attend our interactive Construction Futures Centre. Journey through the industry display and leverage almost 50 unique exhibits designed to engage, educate and help you explore a future in construction.
